Two grieving men bond in support group and form unlikely friendship.
Chuck says:
Smart and timely, James Sweeney’s “Twinless” tackles a myriad of subejcts (grief, loneliness, co-dependency) with uncommon intelligence and sensitivity. Dylan O’Brien stars as Roman, a kind, not-so-bright young man wh’s been adrift since his twin, Rocky (also O’Brien) was killed in a freakish accident. Seeking solace, he joins a support group for other suddenly twinless twins and meets Dennis (Sweeney) who is suffering from a similar lose. The two bond over their grief and an unexpected friendship begins.
To say more would be to ruin Sweeney’s efforts, the young man serving notice as a talent to be reckoned with what with his sharp script, assured direction and touching performance. Suffice it to say there is more (less?) to Dennis than meets the eye, and when his secrets come to light, their affect on Roman is profound. O’Brien continues to prove he is one of our finest young actors, while Aisling Franciosi as his love interest Marcie commands attention. Touching and thought-provoking, “Twinless” quietly and powerfully tells a story that will linger in your mind and heart.
