A documentary addressing tech addiction in the modern age.
Pam says: Writer and director John Hyatt meticulously explores the impact being “plugged in” has had upon our lives, but in particular, how it is effecting this newest generation of children. Hyatt starts by looking at his own family and their habits and then branches out to experts in the field as well as tech gurus who have surprising thoughts about exposure to that little computer in our hands and our homes. This is a conversation starter that reflects back upon our own habits and possibly our future ones as well. I’d highly recommend seeing this if you’ve got kids under 14 as it allows you to see how phones, iPads, etc. impact our children’s neurological development.
Chuck says: This documentary addressing tech addiction in the modern age is a sobering wake-up call regarding the detrimental effects of long-term screen usage. Examining how our reliance on computers, smart phones and televisions affect how we interact with each other as well as how it impacts brain chemistry, this is an effective cautionary tale that should be required viewing for everyone. Director Jon Hyatt doesn’t belabor his point, dropping one dire revelation after another to create a sense of urgency that should be heeded.
