During a power outage, two strangers tell scary stories. The more Fred and Fanny commit to their tales, the more the stories come to life in their Catskills cabin. The horrors of reality manifest when Fred confronts his ultimate fear.

Ruben not only stars but writes and directs as well, which means he can accept all the blame for this misguided effort. While there’s something to be said for keeping the audience in the dark for the sake of suspense, the filmmaker stretches it to the point of tedium, teasing the audience with one horrific reveal after another, always falling short. An absolute bore. 1 ½ Stars. Rated R. 104 minutes.
