The 59th Chicago International Film Festival is coming to a close, but it’s not too late to secure tickets to see some of the award winners as well as those promising films yet to premiere! Tonight, Friday, October 20th at the Music Box Theater, “Memory” stars Jessica Chasten and Peter Sarsgaard as two strangers whose lives intertwine to discover truths they both desperately need. Stick around the north side for “The Holdovers” at the AMC New City with Paul Giamatti as an unlikely mentor to a young student with nowhere to go over the holidays.
Saturday delivers a powerful punch with “The Bride” (AMC New City), “Housekeeping for Beginners” (Gene Siskel Film Center), Mads Mikkelsen in “The Promised Land” (Gene Siskel Film Center), and the much-anticipated “Poor Things” starring Emma Stone in this Yorgos Lanthimos directed “Frankenstein-esque” film (The AMC New City).
