On the eve of their high school graduation, two academic superstars (Beanie Feldstein & Kaitlyn Dever) and best friends realize they should have worked less and played more. Determined not to fall short of their peers, the girls try to cram four years of fun into one night.
Chuck says:
While the premise is familiar, casting two smart, young women as the leads brings new life to the story as we get a new perspective to this oft-told story. The script is far from perfect as circumstances occur that are non-sensical or not fully earned. Yet, Feldstein and Dever are fantastic, their chemistry genuine, their performances realistic, while the film itself is full of heart and very positive in the way it portrays these characters as capable, strong, smart teens who are able to take care of and nurture themselves. In the end, this is a movie you end up liking despite its faults.
