“Jockey” brings us to the physically challenging and competitive world of horse racing as Jackson (Clifton Collins, Jr.), an aging jockey, yearns to win one more championship with dear friend and trainer Ruth’s (Molly Parker) newly acquired horse, before he retires. Upon the arrival of Gabriel (Moises Arias) who claims to be Jackson’s son, relationships are tested along with the priorities and the definition of a true success. This thoughtful film gently reveals the gritty world of racing as well as the humanity of those who endure it.
