A desperate young couple on the run seek refuge in Kansas City.
Chuck says: David Dastmalchian and Karen Gillan star as Gensan and Ruby, a young couple living on the fringe of society. Both are uneducated and end up simultaneously unemployed, leading them to take desperate actions in order to survive. The film becomes a road trip as the duo hits the road in an effort to outrun the law. For its first half, this is a fairly riveting drama before it goes out of its way to shock with an unnecessary twist the story could have succeeded without. The two leads are committed and must be commended but the script by Dastmalchian becomes far too melodramatic for its own good and winds up wasting their fine efforts.
