The true story of a British whistleblower who leaked information to the press about an illegal NSA spy operation designed to push the UN Security Council into sanctioning the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Chuck says:

The true story of Katharine Gun (Keira Knightley), a British whistleblower who leaked information to the press about an illegal NSA spy operation designed to push the UN Security Council into sanctioning the 2003 invasion of Iraq. This is really three movies in one as not only does it tell Gun’s story but that of reporter Martin Bright (Matt Smith) and barrister Ben Emmerson (Ralph Fiennes) as well, as the former broke Gun’s story and the later defended her in court. Though overlong, this is a vital film that speaks to the importance of telling the truth for the greater good and the power and necessity of a free press to expose it no matter what the circumstances.
