A rebellious stoner named Moondog lives life by his own rules.

Director Harmony Korine’s meandering examination of a poet who drifts through life in a drug-induced haze, getting by on his charm and the fading fame stemming from a single, well received volume of poetry. Matthew McConaughey has a great deal of fun in the title role but it’s simply not enough to sustain our interest.  While the theme of the movie is that you shouldn’t sweat the small stuff – or the big stuff for that matter – in the end the movie means nothing and proves a complete waste of time.
