Chuck says: Serving as executive producer on the film, the character’s creator Mike Mignola made sure that this third film adhered more closely to his source material than the first two entries. As a result, fans of the comic book will be well-pleased with this high-energy take on his world of monsters and men as the movie captures the sardonic tone that made the character unique. The action is fast and furious, the production values top-notch and Harbour does a fine job capturing the humor of the character, even if he doesn’t have the physical presence of previous Hellboy, Ron Perlman. If you are not a fan of the character, stay away. You’ll just be dazed and confused.
