After Jane (Sally Hawkins) falls into a state of despair over her schizophrenia, she encounters new sources of love and life with surprising results.

Chuck says:

Writer/director Craig Roberts succeeds in creating one awkward situation after another for Hawkins and her co-star David Thewlis, both saddled with roles that are more caricatures than real. Jane’s woes are dull and repetitive, while the insistence of casting the mentally troubled duo as cute and quirky undercuts any sense of sincerity Roberts attempts the create. Veterans that they are, Hawkins and Thewlis give their all but only wide up embarrassing themselves. 2 Stars. Rated R. 95 minutes.

Pam says:

As Roberts sets the stage for what promised to be an insightful and dramatic story, it seems to have forgotten that there needs to be a story arc.  This film flatlines from the early stages as it spins its wheels and goes nowhere.  Hawkins, never shying away from odd or challenging roles, appears unsure of what’s expected from her character leaving the viewer disengaged and uncaring.  As much as the cast struggled to find inspiration, it was an equally difficult struggle to watch this film.
