Chuck says: The second time around for Stephen King’s version of The Monkey’s Paw is a hurried muddle that lacks heart. Very little time is spent on the relationships between characters or getting to know them for that matter which makes the tragedies that befall them meaningless.  The film’s altered ending doesn’t do it any favors either as it comes off as overkill rather than social commentary which I think (I could be wrong) it was meant to be.
