A man returns to the village of Guizhou and attempts to track down a woman he fell in love with 20 years prior.

Chuck says: The Cannes Film Festival award winner is a gorgeously shot exercise in tedium. Pretentious and turgid, the film can’t get past its self-conscious arty approach to tell its story in a compelling manner. Sacrificing the prospect of narrative engagement for distracting artistic gains, this is a movie for those that appreciate wonderfully composed images and nothing else.
