A town is struck by a meteorite and the fallout is catastrophic.

Chuck says:

This modern update of a H.P. Lovecraft tale finds Nicolas Cage as a family man whose home is the site of a meteor crash that has horrific effects on him, his wife and children.  While the movie starts off promising, director Richard Stanley never establishes a sense of urgency as the movie progresses at a languid pace.  The special effects are cheap but work to the film’s B Movie aesthetic.  In the end though, there’s just not enough bat shit Nicolas Cage moments to make this one worth your while.
