Lee Israel (Melissa McCarthy) resorts to forging personal literary letters and selling them to make ends meet. Israel’s toxic personality somehow allows her to trust a new friend and even begin to break down her own personal boundaries, but all good things must come to an end. 

Pam finds the film to be complexly layered with standout performances from both McCarthy and Richard E. Grant. 

Chuck feels this is McCarthy’s career best performance in this truth is stranger than fiction story, looking at the lengths a person will go to in order to salvage their self-esteem.
